David and Shelly McCormick
David is one of the few "home grown" members of our staff. Born in
Ouachita Parish, he graduated from ULM with a BA in music in '88, then,
was married to Shelly Chatham (from south Monroe) in '90 and graduated
from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Kansas City) in '93 with a
Master in Education.
For the past 25 years, David has served in seven churches in
Louisiana, Missouri and Texas. His area of service has included Student
Minister, Music Minister and Church Planting Pastor before returning to
Ouachita Parish. David also has lead annual mission trips to Ukraine for
the past 7 years.
In 2001, David came to NMBC to serve as interim Minister of Music.
In 2003, he officially became the full- time Minister of Music and has
served in that capacity until now. His heart's desire is to see people
grow deeper in a relationship with God. Knowing God and making Him known
has been his life's goal for all of His adult life.
